A high performance data access layer that interfaces natively with several z/OS assets in near-real time.

  • Try our z Sandbox

Using your own mainframe to trial new solutions can be tricky. To make things easier we've created our own mainframe (z/PDT) sandbox so that you can trial our solutions and see how they work.

  • A RESTful Web Service to z/OS Data & Services

A direct, real-time interface to mainframe databases (Db2, VSAM, IMS Db) & services (TSO, SDSF, FILEIO).

    RunTime Adaptor logo Mainframe Cloud

Access mainframe data by coding the relevant RESTful API call for the required service. Replace ETL batch data processing, access your mainframe data where it resides in real-time for development, or transform and unload for data integration and analytics.

  • Solution Architecture

Address latency & expose data in real-time. Empower your data ecosystem by enabling data integration across the enterprise.

The Runtime Adaptor is less than 1 Mb in size and is installed on the mainframe.

  • Create Microservices in Modern Code

    MainSpace logo Mainframe Cloud

A JavaScript SDK that leverages the real-time connectivity of our Adaptor suite. MainSpace microservices interact directly with mainframe data sources negating reliance on monolithic legacy applications.

  • Breakdown Silos. Empower the Next Generation

A 'Windows' style GUI designed for mainframe management & rapid prototyping of mainframe microservices. Empower mobile & web developers to create mainframe microservices like they are seasoned veterans.

  • Replatform Mainframe Workloads as Cloud Native Java Applications

Mainframe migration projects are a significant challenge. Moving data & applications simultaneously (commonly referred to as 'Big Bang' migrations) is high risk. m2C™ addresses this issue by offering a low risk cloud-native approach to mainframe migration. m2C™ is the result of a Technology Partnership with the US based Heirloom Computing.

  • Why Us?

Our solutions are not like anybody else's.

Security is an important consideration for any company that works with mainframes. We're no different. Our Adaptor suite operates within the existing mainframe security framework. Web service requests require a USERID and password. USERID credentials are authenticated by standard RACROUTE calls to your mainframe security software.

Our Adaptor suite has been designed to be lightweight and easy to install. The size of the executable in both Adaptors is < 1Mb in size.

Coding for the mainframe has never been more simple. Purpose built API methods reduce the complexity of working with various mainframe data sources. Complex mainframe datatypes are managed via transformation utilities that decode datatypes in JavaScript instead of complex COBOL code.

Microservices developed using MainSpace communicate with the mainframe from a mid-range server. The application code is decoupled from the mainframe. Because of this decoupling MainSpace microservices are database independent. We call this - Write Once, Run Everywhere.

    Mainframe Cloud

Enabling the Next Generation of IT Professionals

    Sector: Government

The ATO is the Australian Government's principal revenue collection agency. A number of groups within the ATO require access to mainframe data to perform their roles. Currently, these groups require assistance from specialist mainframe staff to undertake specific functions. Mainframe Cloud's Explore and Command products allow non-specialists to navigate the mainframe without needing specialist assistance. An independent evaluation commissioned by the ATO in September 2018 revealed that Mainframe Cloud's product suite delivered a 25-50% productivity gain among target groups.

    Mainframe Data Migration

    Sector: Various

Mainframe Cloud's RunTime Adaptor was integrated with Pentaho (an ETL solution from Hitachi Vantara) to facilitate ingestion of Db2 data from System z mainframes. The RunTime Adaptor is a proprietary web service API that exposes several mainframe sub-systems and data sources as RESTful. Integration with Pentaho facilitates automated migration of mainframe Db2 data to Hadoop or any other mid-tier database at scale with minimal overhead.

    Mainframe Cloud

    Exposing Mainframe Db2 Data

    Sector: Various

Mainframe Cloud was commissioned to expose Db2 data for a DXC customer in the insurance sector. The exposed data will enable the insurer's customers to view their transaction data via an online web portal. The project highlights Mainframe Cloud's ability to connect natively to mainframe Db2 data and rapidly prototype new functionality in JavaScript. The project was 5 weeks duration and is currently being deployed into production. Click on the DXC logo to view the Case Study.

Replatform Mainframe Workloads to the Cloud

    Sector: Various

Heirloom & Mainframe Cloud became technology partners in July 2019. Heirloom is the industry's only solution for automatically replatforming mainframe workloads as 100% cloud-native Java applications. Mainframe Cloud provides API access to several z/OS assets. The two combined solutions to create a 'Best of Breed' product known as m2C™. m2C™ offers mainframe customers a low risk alternative to 'Big Bang' migration projects. Risk mitigation is facilitated by allowing the migrated applications to 'Callback' to data sources on the mainframe if required. 'Callback' allows organisations to incrementally stage the migration of application workloads to ensure that all aspects of a project can be optimized.
